Thurston County Fire Protection District 17 - Bald Hills Fire Department

Thank you for visiting our internet site!

Our volunteer department is located in the rural southeast corner of Thurston County.  We serve a local community of approximately 4,190 citizens.  We provide fire suppression and basic life support emergency medical services.  We also provide and receive mutual aid from neighboring fire districts within Thurston County.  Our primary station is located along Bald Hill Road in front of Lackamas Elementary School.

The foundation of this department is our volunteers and their families.   Our department is and shall remain a volunteer organization.  We are dedicated to the protection of lives, property and the environment through service, compassion and professionalism.  Being a volunteer requires numerous hours of initial and on-going training.  They endeavor to meet training requirements and performance standards that make no distinction between paid or volunteer personnel.  About Us

Thurston County Fire Danger   -   Low

Washington State Department of Natural Resources current Wildfire Danger for Thurston County.

With the passing of last week’s storms, western Washington now faces the daunting task of cleaning up. Rather than trying to burn that wet, green wood, Olympic Region Clean Air Agency (ORCAA) asks that homeowners either simply pile their yard debris in a safe location on their property for the time being, or use currently available alternative means of disposal. Consider alternatives to burning of storm debris.

The regular burn ban is currently lifted.  The next county wide burn ban will be in effect from July 15, 2012 thru October 15, 2012 for residential backyard and land clearing burning.  Temporary burn bans may be imposed by Olympic Region Clean Air Agency (ORCAA) dependant upon atmospheric conditions.

Thurston County outdoor residential burning permits are available online at (ORCAA FORMS).  For more information contact Olympic Region Clean Air Agency 1-800-422-5023 or follow the link to http://www.orcaa.org.
